Hello, Internet, today is Monday, March 20 – the day I begin my thesis area comprehensive exam.
Comprehensive exams are a key part of my PhD work, and I’ve been reading an awful lot of books over the last several months. So today I will get my questions, pick one, and start what is essentially speed-writing a high-stakes term paper. I have 2 weeks to get it done, which really just means that I’m going to be spending the next fortnight off the grid…ish.
Except, you see, that Second Shot: the Curling Musical is going on tour, so I am in rehearsals for that now, and we playing in Gander on Saturday. My plan is essentially to wake up on Saturday morning, get in a car with some folks who also really couldn’t take Friday off work, travel 335km, tech and perform in a musical, go to bed, and come back home the next day to continue writing this essay. Which, honestly, is kind of a great way to spend a weekend.

This is a special show and Tim and Kiersten have worked SO HARD on it. How could I miss its chance to play the Arts & Culture Centres across the island?
The dates are:
Gander: March 25
Stephenville: April 13
Corner Brook: April 15
Grand Falls-Windsor: April 22
