Storyteller

Sharon has been telling stories since 2009, and was the inaugural winner of the Storytellers of Canada Young Storyteller scholarship in 2010. Over the last dozen years she has told in bars, coffee shops, schools, libraries, theatre venues, and parks across Canada. She was a company member with Just Giraffe Theatre Co’s storytelling project in New Zealand in 2013, and now most frequently tells in association with the St. John’s Storytelling Festival.

She incorporates her writing and theatrical work into her storytelling practice, embodying characters and making use of dialogue and song. Sharon is drawn to folktales, and regularly delivers contemporary retellings of traditional tales, or original or personal stories in a folktale structure.
