The Imaginary Real Relaunch

A pink-and-teal map of the city. Inside the outline of a phone, the map is full of white location markers. Text reads Artistic Fraud of Newfoundland, The Imaginary Real, City of Stories.

Summer is back, and Artistic Fraud is re-launching their digital city-exploration project, The Imaginary Real. It’s like monologue geocaching: when you (and your phone) get close enough to one of 20 locations, a monologue will cue up and read itself to you. Each place has its own piece, written and performed by local artists. I directed 5 of them.

This is a very cool project, and one of the last collaborations led by the late and very great Chris Brookes. And it’s free! Nab the app and go exploring.

The relaunch event will be at O’Brien’s Farm on Monday, June 12 at 5pm.
