Arts & Letters 2019
Hello Internet, today is Monday, April 29th – Happy International Dance Day!
On Friday, the winners of the Arts & Letters Awards came out, so I’m allowed to tell you now – I won one of them. My story, Refracted, was one of four winners in the Senior Short Fiction category.
This was a really nice surprise, and a bit of a kick in the pants to keep writing. I even got to read a short section of the story for the crowd – an actually huge crowd – who gathered at The Rooms for the ceremony on Friday evening. The 3rd floor atrium was packed. There were people on the stairs and everything.
An excerpt of my piece, and many other winners of literary, visual art, and music awards, will be on display at The Rooms until May 12th. If you’re not in town, they’re available at this here website hosted by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation.
