Hello, Internet, it’s jjjjjust Friday, November 29th, which, frankly, is terrifying.
“Yesterday” (oh, it’s still basically Thursday, let’s be honest) was Thanksgiving in America, and also the first full day of Hanukkah, so it is now DEFINITELY the holidays. Folks have their lights up on their houses. Malls, grocery stores and even some downtown streets are covered in green garlands. My friends in New Zealand have started posting pictures featuring themselves in short sleeves again. Today, I read two Christmas-themed books to small children. All the signs are in place.
I admit that I got very excited the first time I saw snow this year (we are still waiting for anything that lasts more than 24 hours, but I’m definitely not complaining). I am willing to walk an hour and a half round trip to craft fairs. My roommate has already started baking cookies with the excellent cookie-cutters we now own. I’m not sure when I’ll find the time, but I am STOKED to hit up local artisans for some gifts and bake the rest of them (consider it spoiled, folks on my Christmas list… though I’m sure you all know already).
I basically love this time of year, but it’s also one of the busiest times ever for me and there’s a big chunk of travel in the middle of it, but this year I am EXTRA SPECIALLY EXCITED because I have managed to book my trip back to Ontario forÂ after the Mummers Festival! I get to see (or maybe be in) the Mummers Parade! This is brilliant.
